Hiroshima Visit of Princes Akishino and Princess Mako

From 29th July to 31st July, HIH Prince Fumihito and HIH Princess Mako of Akishino visited Hiroshima Prefecture.

On 29th July, HIH Prince Fumihito and HIH Princess Mako visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima City and offered flowers at the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims.

On 30th July, HIH Prince Fumihito and HIH Princess Mako attended the opening ceremony of the 40th All Japan High School Culture Festival took place in Hiroshima City. They also visited the exhibition of calligraphy drawn by the students.

Okayama Visit of Crown Prince

From 27th July to 29th July, HIH Crown Prince Naruhito visited Okayama Prefecture to attend the opening ceremony of Interscholastic Athletic Meet.

On 27th July, HIH Crown Prince Naruhito visited the Prefectural Center of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Akaiwa City and picked peaces.
At the evening, HIH Crown Prince Naruhito visited Ms Atsuko Ikeda who lives in Okayama City. Ms Atsuko Ikeda is the elder sister of HM Emperor Akihito.

On 28th July, HIH Crown Prince Naruhito attended the opening ceremony of Interscholastic Athletic Meet took place in Okayama City.

From 25th July to 28th July, HM Emperor Akihito and HM Empress Michiko stayed at Nasu Imperial Villa in Nasu Town, Tochigi Prefecture.

Nara and Kyoto Visit of Crown Prince Family

From 21st July to 22nd July, HIH Crown Prince Naruhito, HIH Crown Princess Masako and HIH Princess Aiko visited Nara Prefecture and Kyoto Prefecture.

On 21st July, they visited the Mausoleum of Emperor Jimmu, the First Emperor of Japan in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture to commemorate the 2600th anniversary of the death of Emperor Jimmu.

On that day, they visited Kyoto Imperial Palace, the former ruling palace of the Emperor of Japan until the Meiji Restoration, when the capital functions were moved to Tokyo in 1869.
