Imperial Visit to Nara

From 2nd April to 4th April, HM Emperor Akihito and HM Empress Michiko visited Nara Prefecture to attend the memorial service commemorating the 2600th anniversary of the death of Emperor Jimmu. Emperor Jinmu is regarded as the First Emperor of Japan.

On 2nd April, Thier Majesties visited Archaeological Institute of Kashihara, Nara Prefecture.

On 3rd April, Their Majesties visited the Mausoleum of Emperor Jimmu accompanied with HIH Prince Fumihito and HIH Princess Kiko of Akishino.

On that day, other members of Imperial Family attended the memorial service commemorating the 2600th anniversary of the death of Emperor Jimmu took place at Imperial Palace Sunctuaries in Tokyo.
